Job summary

Montgomery Public Schools is seeking an Elementary Education Teacher to deliver a comprehensive K-5 program. The teacher will plan lessons, assess progress, manage classroom behavior, and participate in ongoing professional development to support student growth in a dynamic elementary setting.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of content, curriculum and instructional materials.
• Ability to plan lessons based on objectives and student needs.
• Ability to establish effective relationships with students, parents and peers.

Responsibilities

• Teach reading, language arts, math, science, social studies, art, health, PE, and music using approved curricula.
• Instruct pupils in citizenship and state-mpecified content.
• Maintain attendance records and daily reports.
• Manage district-owned equipment and supplies to prevent loss or misuse.
• Establish standards of pupil behavior for an orderly classroom.
• Prepare lesson plans with clear objectives and align with state standards.
• Engage in inservice education to maintain professional competency.
• Meet and instruct assigned classes as scheduled.
• Create a conducive classroom environment within district resources.
• Provide regular progress updates and nine-week reports to students and parents.
• Collaborate with administration to implement school policies.
