Job summary

Atlanta Public Schools is seeking a self-motivated Hourly English Language Arts Teacher to provide in-person instruction in the school building at David T. Howard Middle School.

The role requires adapting to district needs and maintaining a classroom climate that promotes respect and peaceful problem solving while teaching Social Science courses. This position reports to the School Principal and is on-site.

Qualifications

• Must hold a T4-Certification in Secondary English Language Arts.
• Must pass the GACE in Secondary English Language Arts (6-8) or (6-12).

Responsibilities

• Instructs students in a face-to-face classroom in the school building.
• Able to teach both in-person and remote learning when needed.
• Administers assessments to monitor student comprehension of material.
• Coordinates parent/teacher conferences to review student performance.
• Attends faculty meetings and training sessions.
