Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a dockworker to efficiently load and unload freight, ensuring accurate placement on trailers and adherence to safety standards across service centers.

The role uses forklifts, pallet jacks, straps, and related equipment, with a focus on timely deliveries and compliance with DOT guidelines. Working days and shifts vary; the position demands physical stamina, ability to operate handheld tablets, and willingness to meet customer pickup and delivery

Competenze

• Education: High school degree or equivalent.
• Must have working knowledge of safe and efficient lifting and transporting procedures.
• Familiarity with freight movement forms such as shipping orders, manifests, freight bills, and reports.
• Ability to operate a dock yard management system and handheld tablet.
• Must be available for work at all times to meet schedules.

Mansioni

• Load and unload freight on trailers using a forklift, pallet jack or manually.
• Read and interpret shipping labels and forms.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, or rope.
• Ensure proper loading quality and adherence to DOT guidelines.
• Frequent contact with service center personnel; fast-paced and deadline oriented.
