Job summary

Point Quest Group is seeking a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher in San Tan Valley, AZ to provide specialized instruction and support across education settings. The role emphasizes communication access, language development, and self-advocacy for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.

You’ll work with multidisciplinary teams, help implement IEP goals, and leverage ASL, total communication, and assistive listening technology to maximize student success.

Qualifications

• Arizona Dept. of Education cert with Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• IVP fingerprint clearance card required.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience with DHH students.
• Experience with ASL, sign systems and total communication models.
• Familiarity with assistive listening devices and classroom accommodations.
• Experience with IEP documentation systems (e.g., IEP Pro).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and consultative services to DHH students in general and special education settings.
• Assess communication, language, auditory and academic needs.
• Develop and implement IEP goals focused on communication access and language development.
• Support students using various modalities including spoken language, sign language, or total communication.
• Collaborate with audiologists, SLPs, interpreters, teachers, and families.
• Recommend classroom accommodations and assistive tech (FM systems, captioning).
• Monitor progress and maintain IEP documentation.
• Participate in and lead IEP meetings as appropriate.
• Train staff on strategies to support DHH students.
