Nexstar Media Inc. seeks an experienced News Anchor for DC News Now to anchor newscasts and contribute to WDVM, WDCW, and digital platforms in the Washington, DC market. The role demands energy, professionalism, and a proven record in top-20 markets with strong editorial judgment.

The anchor will lead shows, participate in editorial meetings, and interact with the community. Strong flexibility to cover major news and weather events is required, with opportunities for public appearances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication.
• Minimum of five years’ professional experience, including 3–5 years anchoring in a top-40 market.

Responsibilities

• Present news stories and content for all platforms with clarity and engagement.
• Ensure content meets journalistic standards and quality.
• Write and deliver concise news scripts and coordinate with the team.
• Guide and motivate others; direct and oversee editorial decisions.
• Contribute to social media and participate in promotional activities.
• Perform field reporting as assigned and respond to breaking news.
