Job summary

Nexstar Media Inc. seeks a Digital Host/News Producer to bring creativity to the duopoly Sunrise on the Hill in the Washington, DC market and to the streaming show Happening on the Hill on DC News Now and The Hill's CTV channels. You will work with newsroom leadership, anchors, and field crews to craft strong, well-paced newscasts.

The ideal candidate is well-versed in DC and DMV politics, with a track record of owning big stories, breaking news, and weather, and an willingness to appear on-air.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Fluency in English and excellent written and oral communication.
• Minimum two years’ experience in news operations.
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners and other office equipment.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and multitask.
• Flexibility to work any shift.

Responsibilities

• Writes and orders news stories.
• Works with executive producer, anchor, and other producers to construct daily newscasts.
• Edits video for TV and streaming newscasts.
• Edits and orders news content for streaming newscasts.
• Produces and operates hour-long CTV streaming show.
• Coordinates with segment producer to secure guests for TV and streaming interviews.
