Job summary

NAPA Auto Parts Private Fleet is seeking a motivated Forklift Operator to join the on-site transportation operations in Dallas, TX. The role centers on safely operating the yard mule and forklifts to load/unload and position trailers within a fast-paced cross-dock environment.

You will move inbound/outbound freight, ensure accuracy and damage-free shipments, and perform routine inspections and housekeeping to maintain a safe, compliant dock area.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of forklift operator experience.
• Minimum 1 year of trailer moves preferred.
• Experience with standup and sit-down forklifts.
• Requires a valid Driver's License.
• Ability to operate a yard mule/hostler to move trailers.
• Experience backing trailers safely in tight spaces.
• Understanding pre/post-trip inspections for hostler and trailers.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate yard spotter to move trailers within the yard and place them for loading/unloading.
• Transport freight to/from inbound/outbound trailers using stacking and bracing techniques to maximize load volume.
• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage; report variances.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections for hostler and trailers.
• Maintain dock area cleanliness and perform light maintenance on equipment.
• Comply with OSHA and DOT safety standards.
