Job summary

Lynchburg City Schools in Lynchburg, Virginia seeks a Daily Substitute Teacher to provide instructional continuity when the regular teacher is absent. You will implement lesson plans, manage the classroom, and support student learning in collaboration with staff.

The role requires at least 60 college credits or an associate degree, a teaching license preferred, and the ability to adapt to different classrooms and grade levels. This is an on-site position with flexible days as needed.

Qualifications

• 60 credit hours or an associate degree/ParaPro exam required.
• Preferred: valid teaching license and/or teacher licensure participation.
• Experience working with children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the assigned school on time and prepared to fulfill instructional responsibilities.
• Reviews and follows lesson plans and directions from the classroom teacher.
• Delivers instruction aligned with teacher plans and district expectations.
• Maintains a safe, orderly, respectful learning environment.
• Supervises students during instructional and non-instructional activities.
• Maintains attendance, classroom and student records.
• Communicates relevant information to school personnel.
• Follows confidentiality and safety procedures.
