Job summary

Stafford County Public Schools in Virginia seeks a Daily Building Substitute to support classroom instruction under the supervision of the building administrator. The substitute will perform duties of a regular teacher as needed, follow lesson plans, and maintain a positive learning environment.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) with a preference for a bachelor’s degree and valid teaching license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred for advancement.
• Valid teaching license preferred.
• Substitutes must be at least 19 years of age; or in their second year of college. High school substitutes must be at least 21 or in their senior year.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support.
• Perform duties of regular teacher staff when assigned.
• Maintain instruction aligned with lesson plans and classroom routines.
• Promote positive behavior and respectful interactions.
• Prepare materials and resources to support instruction.
• Ensure a neat, safe classroom environment and orderly transitions.
