Job summary

The Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller’s Office in Palm Beach is seeking a dedicated Courtroom Clerk for the Criminal Court Services Department. This role involves on‑the‑job training and handling a variety of Criminal Court proceedings, including traffic, misdemeanor and felony cases.

You will intake evidence, administer oaths, read final verdicts, and sit beside the Judge in a fast‑paced courtroom. The position exposes you to sensitive material such as autopsy and crime‑scene photos,

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience, or 2 years plus 1 year admissible experience.
• Ability to accurately apply detailed data maintenance in automated systems.
• Pre-employment drug screen and physical examination may be required.

Responsibilities

• Accurately record details of court proceedings into an electronic database.
• Function as liaison between Judges, attorneys and the public.
• Review case files and entries for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain flexibility and professionalism in assigned courtrooms.
• Share knowledge of courtroom processes with the team.
• Handle multiple tasks including scheduling court dates and data entry.
• Monitor the flow and electronic record of court proceedings.
• Cover high-volume, fast-paced courtrooms independently or in a team.
• Adapt to changing technology.
• Work overtime as required by Judicial needs.
