Job summary

Tender Care Home Health & Hospice in El Paso, Texas is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to provide therapy under supervision. The role emphasizes implementing physician orders, conducting evaluations with the supervising therapist, and coordinating with the care team to support patient needs.

Candidates must have a 2-year OTA program approved by AOTA, a valid state license, CPR certification, and at least 1 year of clinical OT experience.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate of a 2-year college-level program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
• Minimum of one year of experience in the clinical practice of Occupational Therapy.
• An Occupational Therapy Assistant should meet the qualifications for an occupational therapy assistant under the Federal Conditions of Participation for Homecare Agency established by CMS.
• Must be licensed to practice occupational therapy by the state licensing board in the state of practice.
• Current CPR license.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy services under the direction of the licensed occupational therapist and according to the physician's plan of care.
• Maintain and submit clinical notes, progress reports, and case conferences within required time frames.
• Communicate with the supervising therapist, physicians, and other care team members to coordinate treatment.
• Explain treatment goals and train family members to support carry-over in home settings.
• Assist in evaluating patients and modifying treatment plans based on progress.
