Qualifications

• BA degree in a relevant field and three years of relevant teaching experience.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field and teaching credential strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion.
• Ability to teach elementary school-level courses with joy and verve.
• Fluency in reading, writing and speaking in English; Spanish valued and preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.
• Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
• Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time.
• Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods.
• Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students.
• Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate progress.
• Meet with parents to discuss progress and priorities.
• Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use.
• Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in program development.
• Attend professional meetings and training to maintain competence.
• Other duties as assigned.
