Job summary

Frederick County Public Schools in North Frederick Elementary School is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Teacher (Behavior Support Specialist) to begin around 10/12/2026. Work hours are 7:50 AM to 3:20 PM, at a pay rate of $30.36 per hour, with posting open until filled.

Reporting to the principal, the substitute will plan daily lessons, maintain a productive classroom, apply diverse teaching methods, and track student progress while upholding FCPS policies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 60 college credits required.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred; MSDE certificate with endorsement.
• Possess MSDE issued professional teacher certificate with the appropriate content endorsement.
• Familiarity with FCPS policies, goals and programs.

• Provide instructional needs with daily lesson planning.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Demonstrate a variety of teaching techniques and resources.
• Use evaluation to promote student growth and development.

• Supervise students in various school settings.
