Job summary

Barnes Museum in Philadelphia, PA is seeking an Audio Visual Technician (On-Call) to handle setup, operation, and breakdown of AV equipment for live and virtual events. This role supports lectures, performances, and client events, ensuring inventory control and customer satisfaction.

Requirements include a High School Diploma, 1 year AV experience, and strong computer and communication skills. Associates degree is a plus. This is an on-call position at our Philadelphia campus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 1 year of experience as an A/V Technician.
• Intermediate computer problem-solving skills, including operational competency in Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom, and OBS
• Strong customer service skills with clear communication abilities and the patience to guide users through technical solutions both in-person and virtually
• Reliable, high level of personal integrity

Responsibilities

• Customer service based work ethic.
• Understands the technical aspects of the role and demonstrates advanced operational ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve with equipment and software issues.
• Handles equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
• Given training in Barnes EMS (Event Management System) service orders, able to decipher an equipment list and schedule of events.
• Respects the Barnes’ work culture and adheres to all security procedures and safety measures in cooperation with other departments, especially Events, Facilities, Conservation and Guest Protection Services.
• Performs other duties as requested.
