Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated in San Diego is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to research, plan and design mechanical and electromechanical products and systems, coordinating fabrication, installation and repair.

This role involves tackling routine problems, following standard practices, and interfacing with engineers to develop testing methods and improve manufacturing quality. Evening or weekend availability may be required to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• Proficiency with Solidworks.
• Ability to multi-task and set priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to interface efficiently in a cross-functional group in an engineering and production environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Researches and analyzes data to determine feasibility of design or application.
• Specify and design tooling fixtures, special machinery, and equipment to facilitate manufacture.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance manufacturing, quality and reduce cost.
• Interface with other engineers in fabrication and testing of products or systems.
• Direct and coordinate fabrication and installation activities to meet specifications.
• Coordinate operation, maintenance and repair to maximize utilization of machines.
• Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals.
