Job summary

The Barren County Board of Education seeks a BBB Substitute Lead Teacher to provide an afterschool program that is safe, developmentally appropriate, and engaging for students in Glasgow, KY. The role covers meals, activities, and instruction in the absence of regular staff.

Starting immediately, the substitute lead teacher serves on an as-needed basis, maintaining routines, supporting lessons, and collaborating with site coordinators.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience as a Child Care/Daycare Teacher noted.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
• First aid and CPR certification required.
• Patience and care for students and staff is expected.
• Knowledge of child development and education methods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain established classroom routines and procedures.
• Assist with afterschool programming as outlined by the absent teacher.
• Oversee children’s behavior during class, snack, and recess.
• Provide written notes for the absent teacher and assignments.
• Follow policies, rules, and procedures for staff and students.
• Maintain regular attendance and be flexible to work as needed.
• Foster a team environment with staff, children, and parents.
• Demonstrate high energy and willingness to travel between BBB locations.
