Job summary

Togetherhood is seeking dynamic martial arts instructors to join our after-school network in NYC. You’ll teach Karate, Taekwondo, MMA, or BJJ to K-12 students for terms from 6 to 18 weeks, in schools and community sites across NYC.

Compensation is paid per class on a contracted 1099 basis, with a materials budget provided. Bring energy, structure, and a love of teaching to help kids learn, grow, and have fun.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching school-age children in after-school settings.
• Subject matter expertise in Martial Arts (Karate, Taekwondo, MMA, BJJ).
• Ability to develop engaging, age-appropriate projects and lessons.

Responsibilities

• Develop age-appropriate Martial Arts curriculum for after-school students.
• Lead weekly in-person classes with enthusiasm and expertise.
• Establish a structured and lively classroom that keeps students engaged.
• Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for students of varying skill levels.
• Track student growth and provide constructive feedback.
• Arrive prepared, on time, and ready to teach.
• Create a memorable experience for the children in your class.
