Job summary

Derby Public Schools seeks a Latchkey Group Leader to provide direction, guidance and supervision for children during after-school activities. You will help plan and lead group activities, ensuring safety and positive behavior in a busy environment.

Responsibilities include following activity plans, supervising children, and communicating with program leadership about discipline or concerns. This role supports a safe, engaging after-school program for Derby students.

Qualifications

• Supervise children enrolled in the program.
• Follow daily activity plans as developed by the Latchkey Director/Assistant Director and facilitated by the Group Leader.
• Provide supervision, guidance, and discipline in a fair and consistent manner with children.
• Encourage children to complete activities and return materials.
• Communicate with Group Leader, Assistant Director or Director on discipline, injury and concerns.

Responsibilities

• React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.
• Appropriately operate all equipment related to specific job duties.
• Adhere to all district health and safety policies.
• Ensure that all activities conform to Derby Public Schools and Program guidelines.
• Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the Latchkey Director, Latchkey Assistant Director, Latchkey Group Leader or designee that are consistent with this position.
