Job summary

The YMCA of Middle Tennessee is hiring for a Part-time After School Childcare Assistant. This role supports School Age Programs by leading activities, assisting with curriculum, and maintaining safe, engaging environments at partner schools in Davidson County.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, enthusiasm for youth development, strong teamwork, and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Workweek is Monday through Friday, 2pm–6pm, with ongoing employment through the 2026–2027

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Passion for youth development and working with kids.
• Ability to multitask and work in a team.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and be outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Lead and engage a group of 15–20 children in activities.
• Set up spaces into child-friendly environments and maintain cleanliness.
• Implement a quality curriculum aligned with YMCA guidelines.
• Build positive relationships with staff, school personnel, and families.
• Ensure site licensing and quality standards are maintained.
