Job summary

The YMCA of Middle Tennessee is hiring a Part-time Before and After School Child Care Assistant to support School Age Programs in Davidson County. This role operates during the school year with morning and afternoon shifts, Monday through Friday, in school locations across the Charlotte Pike-Bellevue area.

Responsibilities include leading groups of children, maintaining safe and engaging spaces, and assisting with curriculum adherence and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enthusiastic, organized, and team-oriented individuals with a passion for youth development.
• Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to multitask.
• This role requires staying active with kids and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs and be outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Actively lead and engage a group of 15–20 children in activities, inside and outside.
• Set up and transform program spaces into child-friendly environments and ensure cleanliness.
• Help implement a quality curriculum aligned with YMCA guidelines.
• Build positive relationships with YMCA staff, school personnel, and families.
• Ensure site licensing and quality standards are maintained.
