Job summary

YMCA of Middle Tennessee is hiring a Part-time After School Child Care Assistant to support School Age Programs in Rutherford County's Rockvale and Eagleville Areas. The position runs Monday through Friday, 2pm to 6pm, with pay starting at $15 per hour and opportunities for higher pay based on childcare experience.

You will lead groups of 15–20 children, help set up spaces, implement a YMCA-aligned curriculum, and build positive relationships with staff, schools, and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enthusiastic, organized, and team-oriented with a passion for youth development.
• Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to multitask and stay active with kids.
• Lift up to 40 lbs and endure outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

• Actively lead and engage a group of 15–20 children in activities, inside and outside.
• Set up and transform program spaces into child-friendly environments and ensure cleanliness.
• Help implement a quality curriculum aligned with YMCA guidelines.
• Build positive relationships with YMCA staff, school personnel, and families.
• Ensure site licensing and quality standards are maintained.
