Job summary

San Diego State University in San Diego is seeking an Admissions Counselor to lead recruitment activities at high schools, community colleges, on campus, and virtually, informing prospective students and families about SDSU and CSU admissions requirements.

You will travel regionally, present admissions workshops, coordinate campus tours and events, and build partnerships with counselors and educational partners to guide applicants through the process.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a four-year college degree in behavioral sciences, public or business administration.
• Two years of professional experience in student services or related field; growth potential evident.
• Master’s degree may substitute for one year of professional experience.
• Experience in admissions office and presenting admissions information is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct recruitment activities at high schools and community colleges, including presentations and workshops.
• Advise prospective students and families on SDSU/ CSU admission requirements and processes.
• Build and maintain relationships with counselors, partners, faculty, and staff.
• Coordinate campus visits, tours, preview events, open houses, and outreach initiatives.
• Represent SDSU at regional events, with occasional overnight travel and evenings/weekends.
