Job summary

San Diego State University is seeking an Admissions Counselor to lead recruitment activities at high schools, community colleges, and on campus. You will present admissions information, run workshops, participate in college fairs, and act as a welcoming ambassador while traveling regionally.

Reporting to the Director of Student Recruitment, you will build relationships with counselors, coordinate events, and support prospective students through the application process.

Qualifications

• Experience in admissions presentations and recruitment events.
• Knowledge of CSU/SDSU enrollment requirements.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to travel to high schools and colleges for outreach.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct recruitment activities at assigned high schools and community colleges, including admissions presentations, application workshops, college fairs, and virtual events.
• Advise prospective students and families on SDSU and CSU admission requirements, application processes, and available campus programs and resources.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with school counselors, educational partners, faculty, staff, and community stakeholders.
• Coordinate and support campus visitation and recruitment programs, including tours, preview events, open houses, and targeted outreach initiatives.
• Represent SDSU at recruitment events throughout the region and California, including occasional overnight travel and evening or weekend activities.
