Job summary

The Corvallis School District is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a temporary 1.0 FTE position serving in the Learning Resource Center (LRC) or Life Skills Program. Start date ASAP with 191 work days and a salary range of $56,258–$105,238, prorated by FTE and benefits included.

The role requires collaboration with regular education staff to design, implement, and monitor IEPs and progress, while maintaining confidentiality and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Oregon teacher's license with appropriate special education endorsement and grade level authorization.
• Experience with students with a wide range of disabilities is preferred.
• Knowledge of state and federal special education regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Create and model a respectful learning environment.
• Consult with regular education teachers to adapt/modify curriculum.
• Serve as case manager for services to students in LRC or Life Skills program.
• Coordinate evaluations and develop IEPs for eligible students with disabilities.
• Inform parents/guardians of due process rights.
• Develop data-based progress-monitoring systems to track student performance.
• Train and coordinate Educational Assistants.
