Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Valid Arizona Teacher’s Certificate.
• Valid Arizona Teaching Endorsement(s) in the subject area(s) to be taught.
• Must be in compliance (or able to be in compliance) with Arizona State law regarding standards for grade level and/or subject area that is being taught.
• Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Must be capable of developing effective instructional programs.
• Strong knowledge of the English language including reading, writing and oral communication with extensive skills in spelling, punctuation and grammar.
• Knowledge of Spanish including reading, writing and oral communication is desired.
• General knowledge of special education curriculum and instruction.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with students, parents and staff.
• Must be an energetic, highly ethical and possess good emotional and physical health.

Responsibilities

• Establish a welcoming instructional climate and culture for all students, parents, community, etc.
• Provide differentiated instruction based on individual student needs.
• Prepare weekly lesson plans that are in alignment with district and state adopted objectives and goals.
• Present effective lessons to students as described in lesson plans.
• Develop and implement effective classroom management to maintain acceptable student behavior, ensure student safety and create a productive learning environment.
• Prepare or obtain all instructional materials to be used in the classroom in a timely manner.
• Instruct students individually or in small groups to help them master objectives and to reinforce learning.
• Collaborate with special education teachers, team members, administration, etc. as needed to assist in the instruction of a student(s).
• Attend staff meetings as directed.
• Attend and assist with school functions as directed.
