Job summary

The Saco School Department seeks a Long Term Substitute Grade 6 English Language Arts Teacher for a 12-week period from approximately November 1 through February 12. The teacher will join a four-person 6th grade team, delivering standards-aligned ELA instruction and collaborating on curriculum, planning, and assessment.

Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, assessing students, maintaining records, communicating with families, and supporting an inclusive classroom.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of current teaching methods and pedagogy.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers ELA curriculum aligned with district goals.
• Creates engaging lesson plans and translates plans into learning experiences.

• Maintains records of grades, attendance and student progress.
• Communicates with families and administration regarding progress.
• Supports an inclusive, safe, and effective learning environment.
• Participates in faculty meetings and collaborates with team members.
• Administers standardized tests as required.
