SUMMARY

Accurately weighs, prepares, and delivers dyes and chemicals to all beam and jet dye machines promptly to minimize downtime. Receives dye orders from the control room, reviews recipes, and weighs dyes using an electric scale. Prints readouts to verify accuracy, ensures cleanliness of dye cans, mixes dyes per standard procedures, disperses dyes, and delivers dye cans/chemical buckets along with copies of dye orders to the correct machines. Responsible for maintaining quality and consistency of shade matches, establishing standards, and keeping production schedules and records of shade performance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

This list is a representative sample and not exhaustive of all responsibilities:

  • Schedule dye lots based on delivery dates and priorities.
  • Release lots based on shade acceptability.
  • Adjust shades, including adding dyes as needed.
  • Identify and record causes for non-acceptable shades before making dye adjustments.
  • Monitor cycle times and note deviations.
  • Supervise beam and jet operators and batching operators indirectly.
  • Communicate dyeing decisions effectively to operators to prevent miscommunication and downtime.
  • Assist operators with raw material, SOP, and equipment issues.
  • Maintain color folders and dye cards for each order and shade.
  • Ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to meet departmental objectives.
ABILITY TO
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English for interpreting documents and instructions.
  • Communicate clearly with co-workers, supervisors, and management.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision; be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a team player.
  • Solve practical problems with limited standardization.
  • Interpret various instructions and data in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including manual dexterity, visual acuity, and speed.

  • Lifting, moving rolls, and operating forklifts are required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED; 6 months to 1 year of related experience or training; or equivalent.
  • Knowledge or experience in Material Handling and/or Shipping is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands required for this role include:

  • Frequent hand, finger, and wrist movements.
  • Standing (80%) and walking (20%).
  • Talking, listening, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and repetitive hand motions.
  • Occasional climbing or balancing.
