SUMMARY

Accurately weigh, prepare, and deliver dyes and chemicals to all beam and jet dye machines promptly to minimize downtime. Review dye orders, weigh dyes using electric scales, verify cleanliness, mix dyes according to standards, and deliver dye cans or chemical buckets to the correct machines.


Ensure quality and consistency of shade matches to established standards. Maintain production schedules and keep records of shade performance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Schedule dye lots based on delivery dates and priorities.
  • Release lots upon acceptable shade matching.
  • Adjust shades as needed, including adding dyes.
  • Identify and record causes for non-acceptable shades before making adjustments.
  • Monitor cycle times and note deviations.
  • Supervise beam, jet, and batching operators indirectly.
  • Communicate dyeing judgments promptly to avoid miscommunication and downtime.
  • Assist operators with raw material, SOP, and equipment issues.
  • Maintain color folders and dye cards for each production order.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to meet objectives.

ABILITY TO

  • Read, write, speak, and understand English for interpreting documents and instructions.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management.
  • Work independently, be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a team player.
  • Solve practical problems with limited standardization.
  • Interpret instructions in various formats.
  • Perform physically in a manufacturing environment—manual dexterity, visual acuity, speed.

  • Lifting, moving rolls, and forklift operation are required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED; 6 months to 1-year related experience or training, or equivalent.
  • Experience in Material Handling or Shipping is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands include frequent hand, finger, and wrist movements, standing (80%), walking (20%), talking, listening, and occasional climbing or balancing.
