Job summary

Valdese Weavers in Perkins, NC is seeking an entry-level Dye Machine Operator Helper to stage yarn for dyeing and move it through the process. The role supports the dye operation and requires handling yarn, loading dye machines, and maintaining cleanliness on the floor.

The position offers shift premium on 2nd/3rd shifts and an attendance bonus; ESOP ownership is a feature of the company.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills and ability to work with others.
• Reading, writing, and basic math skills required.
• Good physical condition; heavy lifting expected.

Responsibilities

• Crimp styles that require forming.
• Load yarn on spindles with spacers as needed.
• Place yarn in front of the appropriate dye machine.
• Load and unload dye machines.
• Extract yarn and move to port dryers; after drying, unload to area.
• Move carriers of clipped yarn to conditioning room.
• Work all scheduled overtime.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Move barrels of dye and chemicals to drug room area on each shift.
• Maintain good housekeeping on the floor.
• Remove and properly dispose of trash on each shift.
