Job Summary

Performs preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, and machine support tasks to keep assigned production line operational. Selects and uses appropriate tools, machinery, specialty equipment, and guidance to complete assigned job.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintains safe work habits and actions in all aspects of the daily task; evaluates reactive work for safety issues, plans projects so that safety is key, and reviews preventative work for any unforeseen items that may present safety hurdles.
  • Performs electrical, mechanical, and fabrication tasks across various specialties including setting up and operating machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, Computerized Numerical Controlled (CNC) equipment, welders, and grinders to machine parts to specifications.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatuses, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of breakdown, correct the problem, and document machine downtime.
  • Reads, interprets, and follows blue prints, work instructions, and manuals; prepares or follows blueprints; notes modifications to blueprints to document equipment modifications; documents work performed by paper and electronically.
  • Improves preventative maintenance and work order completion; assists maintenance manager with tracking and scheduling preventative maintenance and work orders; assists operations in promoting its preventative maintenance completion and removing roadblocks.
  • Identifies current machine maintenance bottlenecks and works to solve them.
  • Reviews daily machine issue reports for recurring problems and identifies ways to solve issues including working with lab for solving machine part failure issues.
  • Assists in improving and maintaining maintenance inventory.
  • Works cross-functionally to make repairs within one’s capability.
  • Performs work in a wide variety of conditions, such as extreme heat, cold, and moisture.
  • Maintains housekeeping and safety in work areas.
  • Participates in training and personal development; assists in training department personnel and apprentices.

  • Perform a wide range of maintenance activities across mechanical, electrical, and fabrication disciplines to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency. Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, assemble, install, test, and maintain industrial equipment and systems using appropriate tools, technologies, and best practices.
  • Apply working knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical components, and fabrication techniques to support production and facility operations. Safely work with electricity, stored energy, and other hazardous energy sources by adhering to established protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and continuously building competency in industrial safety standards.
  • Operate with a high degree of independence while also supporting team development by sharing knowledge, coaching, and providing guidance to other technicians as needed.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships across departments. Communicate clearly and professionally to coordinate work, report issues, and ensure alignment with operational needs. Demonstrate strong teamwork by contributing positively to the work environment and supporting collective goals.
