Western Veterinary Partners offers veterinary externships across multiple practices in the United States. Students at any grade level can apply to participate in their clinical year externship blocks or for informal externship experiences, under supervision.

As an extern, you will gain hands-on experience with client communication, case management, and in-house diagnostics. The program emphasizes growth, professional development, and the potential to join practices after graduation.

Qualifications

• Must be a veterinary student in any year and able to participate in externship blocks.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with clients and team members.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and work in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervising veterinarian with client histories and physical exams.
• Support creation of treatment plans and review estimates.
• Assist with in-house labs and observe or assist surgical procedures.
• Develop skills in time management, record-keeping, and client communication.
