Qualifications

• Be enrolled in an accredited DVM program.
• You are authorized to work in the United States.
• You must carry professional liability insurance (AVMA PLIT) and provide evidence.

Responsibilities

• Externs work under supervision to gather histories, perform exams, develop plans, scrub in to surgery, assist in medical case management, provide wellness care, and document medical records (SOAPs).
• Participate in patient care activities with mentorship from a veterinarian.
• Conform to professional standards and AVMA guidelines during the externship.
