Responsibilities

• Supervise leisure centre staff and ensure high service standards.
• Oversee daily operations across pool, gym, and activity spaces.
• Enforce health and safety regulations and perform risk assessments.
• Handle customer queries, complaints, and requests promptly.
• Assist with staff training and development initiatives.

Role Overview

As a Duty Supervisor working alongside the management team, you will oversee the daily operations of the leisure centre, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and efficient environment for all customers. You will be responsible for supervising staff, managing customer inquiries, handling health and safety protocols, and ensuring that all activities and facilities are running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the leisure centre staff, ensuring high standards of service and customer care.


• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the centre, including poolside supervision, fitness areas, and activity spaces.


• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, carrying out regular risk assessments and ensuring the centre is fully compliant.


• Handle customer queries, complaints, and requests in a professional and timely manner.


• Assist with staff training and development, ensuring all staff members are equipped with the knowledge and skills required.


• Monitor facility maintenance, ensuring equipment and areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained.


• Support in the preparation and execution of events and activities held at the leisure centre.


• Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by promoting a positive and friendly atmosphere.

Key Requirements

• Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a leisure centre or similar environment is desirable.


• Strong understanding of health and safety protocols in a public facility.


• Excellent communication and customer service skills.


• Ability to supervise and motivate a team, ensuring efficient operations.


• First Aid and/or Lifeguard qualification (preferred, but training can be provided).


• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.


• A passion for fitness, sport, and recreation is desirable.
