Job Description

Terms of Employment: Part-time Position

Location: Frederick Douglass Elementary

Essential Job Functions

• Utilize student data and observations of student work to determine student needs.
• Plan daily intervention lessons based on student needs and the NC Standard Course of Study.
• Facilitate engaging small group instruction for students.
• Maintain open communication with the student’s regular classroom teacher and their parent/guardian to ensure student needs are being met.
• Maintain records of student progress and attendance.
• Use effective classroom management strategies to create a safe, positive learning environment.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications and Licensure

• Knowledge of current teaching standards and research-based teaching strategies.
• Evidence of teacher effectiveness (e.g., assessment data or EVAAS teacher effectiveness data).
• Active North Carolina Teaching License.
