Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Vehicle Hardware Validation Technician to support Vehicle Hardware Engineering by executing in-house structural, durability, and mechatronic tests. This hands-on lab role emphasizes safe, efficient test execution, reliable data, and an organized work environment.

The candidate will set up tests, install fixtures and sensors, monitor test quality and safety, and document results for engineering analysis.

Qualifications

• Hands-on test lab experience in validation or R&D.
• Technical program in Automotive Technology or Engineering Technology preferred.
• Familiarity with mechanical systems and load paths.
• Experience with electro-mechanical equipment and safety.
• Experience with 3D scanning, CMM, and data acquisition.
• Ability to read CAD/GD&T drawings.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run structural and durability tests with actuators.
• Install and align test articles, fixtures, sensors.
• Monitor safety, data quality, and equipment health.
• Support mechatronic tests including CAN interfaces.
• Document setups, conditions, anomalies, and results.
• Maintain a safe, 5S-lab and inventory.
• Operate forklifts and light fabrication.
• Produce concise summaries to engineers.
