Din Tai Fung North America is hiring a Dumpling Prep / Trainee in Portland, OR. In this entry-level role you’ll prepare, assemble, fold, and steam dumplings in our show kitchen, supporting the kitchen team and guest experience.

Starting as a trainee, you’ll learn the dumpling program and transition into the Dumpling Prep role. Benefits include competitive pay, health insurance options, 401(k) with company match, and employee meal discounts.

Qualifications

• Dumpling experience is not required
• Experience in prep, specifically with dough (pastry, pizza, etc.) is a plus
• Open Availability
• Eager to learn, enjoys to be challenged
• Ability to stand for long periods of time

Responsibilities

• Keeps all kitchen areas clean and sanitized
• Organizes items within the walk-in coolers and freezers
• Lifts/moves boxes, bags, chairs, and tables (up to 50 pounds)
• Assists with regular deep cleaning of the kitchenMaintains confidentiality regarding all proprietary information, including but not limited to recipes and Standard Operating Procedures (“SOP’s“)
