Job summary

AA Asphalting LLC in Vancouver, WA is seeking a hard-working CDL Class A driver to operate outdoors and support asphalt and concrete restoration projects.

You will perform daily vehicle inspections, load and unload safely, and coordinate with supervisors to reach job sites efficiently while maintaining strict safety practices and on-time deliveries. This role requires attention to detail and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A license required.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and efficiency.
• Ability to perform daily vehicle inspections and basic math for loads.

Responsibilities

• Conducts daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and completes driver’s checklist.
• Loads and unloads equipment safely, ensuring proper securing on trailers.
• Follows safety regulations and uses spotters when required; reports issues to supervisors.
• Transports materials to jobsites efficiently and on schedule.
• Spreads and dumps gravel as directed; operates in coordination with paving crews.
• Performs non-driving labor as needed and assists team on-site.
• Keeps truck clean and fueled; maintains good housekeeping on equipment.
• Adheres to GPS routes and adheres to company safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Conducts daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle, trailer and equipment inspections and completes driver's checklist in Fleetio.
• Loads and unloads equipment in a safe manner by always utilizing the help of a second person, and ensures equipment is correctly secured on trailers.
• Practices safe driving skills in all operating conditions (including "4 second rule") following all vehicular safety regulations and consistently using spotters.
• Recognizes mechanical issues as they develop with engine, brakes and electrical systems and takes action when necessary to shut down and secure the machine to avoid additional damage; reports maintenance needed and/or any damage to their Superintendent, Foreman and Shop Foreman.
• Responsible for ensuring material is loaded safely and efficiently (ensures not overweight, no debris, etc.) and safely transports to jobsites and/or plants.
• Can follow GPS and get to job sites and to material sources in a timely manner.
• Spreads and dumps gravel efficiently; spots truck into paver and places material as directed.
• Performs non-driving, general labor duties as needed and/or directed.
• Provides materials' tickets to the Foreman daily so Foreman can complete their work.
• Maintains a clean truck to include spraying down of trailers when needed and practices good housekeeping on all equipment.
• Ensures truck is fueled each night.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations and practices preventive safety measures; wears required PPE.
