Job summary

Achen-Gardner Construction, LLC is seeking a responsible Dump Truck Operator to safely transport materials to varied job sites across Arizona. The role requires a valid CDL (Arizona Class B or A), a current DOT medical certification, and a minimum of three years of dump truck experience.

You will perform inspections, maintain logs, and communicate with site teams. Join a 100% employee-owned contractor known for heavy civil work in wet utility, roadway, and water/wastewater facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Arizona Class B or A CDL in good standing is required.
• Valid DOT Medical Certification is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating dump trucks preferred.
• Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and best practices for materials.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Basic mechanical skills for minor truck maintenance.
• Willingness to travel to various job sites as needed.
• Ability to read, understand and navigate using maps (paper/digital).
• Able to read and write English.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a dump truck and minimize risk and liabilities.
• Ensure load weight complies with State and Federal regulations.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document results.
• Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel use, maintenance, and hours.
• Communicate with project managers and teammates to coordinate material transport and delivery schedules.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Perform basic truck maintenance as needed.
• Navigate to diverse locations on roads and off-road.
• Wear PPE and work outdoors in AZ climate.
• Other duties as assigned.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely operate a dump truck in a manner that reduces risk and liabilities.
• Ensure load weight is in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
• Perform and properly document pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to ensure they are in a safe and legal condition.
• Maintain accurate records of trip details, including mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance reports and hours worked.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, equipment operators, and other team members to coordinate material transport and delivery schedules in a direct and friendly manner.
• Always adhere to Achen-Gardner Construction's safety policies and procedures.
• Perform basic maintenance on the truck when necessary.
• Accurately navigate a dump truck using instructions, maps or GPS, to a wide variety of locations both on road and off.
• Properly wear and safely use PPE.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.

• Possible excessive hours during short durations.
• May include some weekend and evening work, depending on current projects.
• Working outdoors in AZ climate.
• This position is contingent on passing a pre-employment drug test.
