Job summary

Cardinal Civil Contracting is seeking a qualified CDL driver for our Denver, NC operations. The role involves hauling materials to and from job sites, conducting vehicle inspections, and adhering to DOT and OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• License: Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Medical: Clean driving record and a valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT physical).
• Experience: 1 to 3 years of commercial driving, prefer dump trucks/trailers in construction.

Responsibilities

• Hauling & Dumping: Transport construction materials to and from job sites and operate hydraulic mechanisms to unload safely.
• Vehicle Inspections: Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections for tires, brakes, lights, and fluids.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow Federal/State DOT regulations and OSHA rules.
• Load Management: Ensure loads are secure, tarps used when required, and within weight limits.
• Logistics & Record Keeping: Maintain driver logs, delivery tickets, and fuel receipts.
• Site Coordination: Communicate with dispatchers, project managers, and flaggers to navigate traffic and active sites.

Responsibilities

• Hauling & Dumping: Transport construction materials to and from job sites, quarries, or dumps, and operate the truck's hydraulic mechanisms to unload materials safely.
• Vehicle Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify that tires, brakes, lights, and fluid levels are compliant and safe.
• Safety & Compliance: Abide by all Federal and State Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and OSHA rules.
• Load Management: Ensure materials are loaded evenly, secured properly with tarps when required, and kept under legal weight limits.
• Logistics & Record Keeping: Complete and maintain accurate driver logs, delivery tickets, and fuel receipts.
• Site Coordination: Communicate directly with dispatchers, project managers, and flaggers to navigate traffic and safely maneuver around active, congested job sites.

Qualifications

• License: Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Medical: Clean driving record and a valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate (must pass a DOT physical).
• Experience:1 to 3 years of commercial driving experience, with specific preference for operating dump trucks or trailers in construction settings.
• Physical Demands: Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions, along with the ability to bend, climb in and out of the cab, and occasionally assist ground crews.
