Job summary

Truck Bodies & Equipment International (TBEI) is seeking a Paint Technician to prepare, paint, and finish dump bodies and truck equipment to high quality standards. You will handle surface prep, primer/topcoat application, color matching, and final inspection while aligning with safety and production goals.

The role collaborates with fabrication, assembly, and quality teams to ensure customer specifications are met.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience painting industrial equipment (heavy equipment).
• Knowledge of spray painting techniques and coatings.
• Ability to read work instructions and production documents.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare dump bodies and truck components for painting (sanding, masking, cleaning).
• Apply primers, sealers, and finish coats with spray equipment.
• Mix hardeners and coatings per manufacturer specs.
• Ensure correct paint thickness, coverage, and finish quality.
• Inspect surfaces before/after painting and perform touch-ups.
• Maintain paint booths and related tools in safe condition.
• Follow production schedules and meet productivity goals.
• Read work orders and paint requirements; track supplies.
• Observe OSHA/safety regulations and PPE use.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
