Division of Neonatology at Duke University is seeking a pediatrician to join our infant complex care group. Ideal candidates are early to mid-career pediatricians with a special interest in caring for children under three, especially those with special health care needs and NICU experience. Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible with expectations to become board-certified in General Pediatrics.
In this role, candidates will contribute to the growth of a well-established Infant Complex Care program known for excellence in patient care, research, and education. The program includes pediatricians experienced in NICU graduate care, a child psychologist, an Infant Complex Care fellow, nurse practitioners, a nurse clinician, a social worker, and therapists. The new team member will work to enhance clinical programs such as the Special Infant Care follow-up clinic (SICC), Transitions Medical Home program (TMH) for high-risk infants, and the Pediatric Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Clinic (PCNC) for infants with congenital heart disease.
This role also involves inpatient service in our transitional care unit, caring for chronic NICU patients requiring complex care coordination and discharge planning, bridging NICU care with outpatient follow-up.
Research opportunities include participation in the NICHD Neonatal Research Network (NRN), focusing on neurodevelopmental and health outcomes after NICU stays.
Duke’s Department of Pediatrics comprises over 200 faculty members, with the Neonatology division including 22 faculty and 10 fellows. Care is provided at Duke Hospital’s Level IV NICU and Duke Regional Hospital’s Level II unit. The Infant Complex Care service manages inpatient and outpatient care at Duke NICU, Children’s Health Center, and Lenox Baker Children’s Hospital.
