Position Overview

Duke Health offers an innovative opportunity for pain management physicians to provide clinical leadership and strategic direction in a pioneering model of integrated pain care. This 100% clinical role involves ambulatory care and interventional pain management, focusing on early identification and comprehensive care to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Participate in community-based integrated pain clinics, emphasizing early risk identification and optimal care.
  • Implement a 'whole patient' approach with multimodal analgesia, interventional procedures, and wellness strategies.
  • Manage a multidisciplinary care team, including advanced practice providers and social workers, with training and communication strategies.
  • Develop practice models with referring services and lead telehealth initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Active/unrestricted MD or DO license.
  • Board Certified in Pain Medicine preferred; backgrounds in Anesthesiology, Psychiatry, Physiatry & Rehabilitation, or Internal Medicine are also welcomed.
  • Leadership skills to collaborate effectively across teams and enhance patient outcomes.
  • Understanding of quality improvement and risk management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships at all organizational levels.
