The Duke Radiology Division of Interventional Radiology seeks candidates for a clinical faculty position as Medical Instructor, Assistant, or Associate Professor. The position is based at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC, with duties at the Durham VA Medical Center and affiliated hospitals and outpatient practices. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in academic interventional radiology within a busy clinical setting. Applicants must be board-eligible or board-certified in Interventional Radiology and have a strong record in research, education, and clinical care.
The ideal candidate will have the flexibility and ability to perform a broad range of interventions in a busy and expanding practice. Procedures include interventional oncology, hepatobiliary, portal, transplant, peripheral arterial disease, deep venous, women's interventions, complex gastrointestinal, MSK, hemodialysis, among others.
Duke IR has a busy interventional oncology program, including primary tumor therapies and palliative treatments. Duke’s transplant center is among the busiest nationally, with extensive collaboration to optimize outcomes. Strong partnerships exist with hepatobiliary surgery, urology, oncology, trauma, vascular surgery, and others. Involvement in clinics, inpatient care, and multidisciplinary conferences is essential. Candidates with experience in practice growth, innovation, musculoskeletal, or palliative interventions are highly valued. Percutaneous biopsies are performed by radiology subspecialists.
Applicants should have strong research and/or educational interests. The Duke Interventional Radiology Translational Research Laboratory supports basic and translational research. Duke Radiology and the IR Division are committed to excellence in medical student and resident education.
