Job summary

Vortex Metal Manufacturing in Richmond, VA is seeking a detail-driven estimator to translate takeoff data from mechanical plans into accurate ductwork pricing and clear professional proposal sheets for client submission.

You will collaborate with estimators, project managers, and clients to confirm assumptions and pricing strategy, set margins that align with company goals, and ensure material costs are current, accurate, and well-documented in proposals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Fluent English speaking and writing skills are required.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Solid understanding of estimating principles and financial concepts.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and proposal formatting tools.
• Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of ductwork, HVAC systems, or metal fabrication processes is preferred.
• Prior experience in construction estimating, pricing, or proposal coordination is preferred.
• Familiarity with construction project documentation and bid procedures.
