Job summary

American StaffCorp in Claremore, OK seeks an experienced TEST - 1 Plate Test Dual Wire Submerged Arc Welder to operate heavy-duty SAW equipment, fusing thick metal plates with deep penetration and high deposition rates.

You will set up twin wires per WPS, monitor welds, inspect quality, and perform slag removal to ensure conformance with blueprints. Requires 2–5 years SAW experience; CW/CWI preferred, with proper PPE.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience operating automatic or semi-automatic submerged arc welding machinery in heavy manufacturing, shipbuilding, or pressure vessel fabrication.
• Ability to read/interpret technical drawings and setup operating charts.
• CW or CWI certification is strongly preferred.
• Must be able to wear required PPE and navigate around large, heavy structural fabrications.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy-duty mechanized SAW equipment to fuse thick plates.
• Set up continuous twin wires, adjust current/voltage/travel per WPS.
• Direct flux handling and maintain flux feed systems.
• Monitor weld parameters and ensure synchronization of wire feed and travel speed.
• Inspect welds and clean slag/flux between passes.
