Job summary

LeaderStat, LLC is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Nurse Manager to join a hospital leadership team in Virginia. The role will oversee a high-volume Main ED and a Freestanding ED, reporting to the ED Director alongside another Nurse Manager.

The position emphasizes clinical operations, staffing, patient safety, and staff development across two settings, with responsibilities spanning ~80+ FTEs and a rotating on-call schedule.

Qualifications

• Diploma or ADN from an accredited nursing program.
• Active Virginia RN license or eligibility for VA practice.
• Nursing leadership or management experience.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
• Ability to manage multidisciplinary clinical teams in an emergency care environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily Emergency Department operations and assume leadership in the Director's absence.
• Ensure staffing and resource allocation based on patient volumes and needs.
• Develop, review, and implement departmental policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
• Participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, coaching, and evaluating staff.
• Ensure licensure, competencies, certifications, and mandatory education are up to date.
• Collaborate with the ED Director and fellow Nurse Manager to maintain efficiency and high-quality care.
• Support employee engagement, accountability, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule with the other Nurse Manager and ED Director, including weekends and holidays.
