Job summary

TURN in San Diego, CA is seeking a Dual Recovery Specialist to provide case management, crisis intervention, and coordination of whole-person care for clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

The role requires a Master’s or Bachelor’s in social services plus SUD certification, strong documentation skills, and the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team on referrals, discharge planning, and community resources.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with two years of experience in social services; or bachelor's degree with four years of experience in social services.
• SUD certification or registration from recognized board.
• Valid CA driver’s license and current auto insurance per contract requirements.
• Experience providing mental health and/or substance use disorder services preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and EHR software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide case management with crisis intervention, discharge planning, group & individual work, counseling, screening, and assist clients in meeting basic needs and symptom management.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation, meet minimum billable requirements for direct client services.
• Facilitate placement including pre-placement visits, and transportation as needed.
• Shift coverage including part of the on-call team.
• Provide field-based services as required by program and client need.
• Maintain confidentiality of client’s care.
• Participate in scheduled program meetings.
• Other relevant duties as assigned.
• Provide information and education about substance use and strategies for relapse prevention.
• Act as the team expert on serving dually diagnosed clients.

JOB SUMMARY

Recommend and assist access to medical, educational, social, vocational, housing, and more to support program goals. Initiate referrals to next level care, coordinate with physical health providers for whole-person care, and advocate in the best interest of clients.
