Job Description

The Cage Cashier is responsible for performing various cashier functions in a pleasant, efficient, and honest manner while providing exceptional customer service to guests.

Responsibilities

• Cashes checks, money orders, cashier checks, coins, chips, and TITO tickets for customers and employees.
• Handles large sums of money, accounting for total funds received throughout the shift and at day's end.
• Issues loyalty cards, maintains member database, updates guest records, explains mail, re-issues lost coupons, and cashes direct mail offers.
• Explains loyalty program structure and qualification for different levels of benefits.
• Maintains accountability over a cashier drawer.
• Resolves customer service issues to ensure guest satisfaction and handles difficult customers with resilience.
• Transports currency and coins to appropriate areas.

Qualifications

• Works primarily on the casino floor, with exposure to crowds, noise, and smoke depending on customer volume.
• Effective communication skills with customers and team members.
• Ability to move efficiently around the cage area.
• Ability to review, understand, and write clear reports.
• Quickly identifies and responds to equipment issues.
• Proficient with computer keyboard, 10-key, and calculator.
• Capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 75 lbs or more.
• Accurately cashes different denominations of gaming tokens, cash, and checks.
• Basic math skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to obtain necessary work authorization and licenses per regulations.
• Flexible to work varying shifts and schedules.
• Minimum age of 21 years.

This knowledge is typically acquired through a high school education or equivalent, along with on-the-job training.
