Dual-Licensed Massage Therapist & Esthetician

Scope of Position
The Dual-Licensed Massage Therapist and Esthetician is responsible for, but not limited to, performing all spa massage, body, and facial treatments to residents and their guests skillfully and graciously. Protocols are to be followed as trained to provide consistent and safe service to everyone. This person must ensure that Turnberry Ocean Club’s operational policies and procedures are always adhered to. Their attention to detail and commitment to thorough and mutual communication are pivotal to the success of daily operations.
Position Requirements
- Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Spa industry luxury hotel, resort, club, or condominium environment.
Hospitality Experience Preferred.
- Safety Oriented First Aid and CPR certification, a plus.
- Outstanding customer service skills, presents him/herself professionally with having a sophisticated communication ability.
- Handle a multitude of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Must demonstrate a professional, efficient manner with the ability to work and interact with a variety of people.
- Must be able to remain calm under stressful situations.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in the English language.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.
- Uniform will be provided and is required for the position.
Responsibilities
- Perform 60, 90 and 120-minute massage and body treatments, as certified/trained to do so.
- Ensure individualized guest service through acknowledging and responding to needs and expectation.
- Promote spa services to residents and guests.
- Be knowledgeable of telephone etiquette, resident relations, Spa Services and Retail sales.
- Greet residents and guests in a friendly and efficient manner. Anticipate their needs, show resourcefulness in fulfilling their unspoken desires.
- Answer questions about available services, general property information, and amenities.
- Provides guests with a thorough and knowledgeable professional massage or body treatment.
- Demonstrates respect, sensitivity, and concern for resident and guest needs in a professional and pleasant manner.
- Practices universal health care protocol while interacting with residents/guests and coworkers.
- Present and punctual for the agreed upon schedule and works hours that are committed to Turnberry Ocean Club as discussed with management.
- Must attend all training courses as deemed necessary, must adhere to training as set by management.
- Participates in continuing education, and attends all training scheduled to perform treatments. Maintains current professional licenses.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies for the operation of the treatment rooms.
- Offers and in-suite and/or on-site chair massages on occasion.
- Set up and break down assigned treatment room, maintain neat and presentable room, before, throughout and after each shift.
- Arrives 20 minutes before the start of shift to allow sufficient time to prepare for workday.
- Report and document and observed or known safety hazards, conditions, or unsafe practices and procedures to management immediately.
- Inform management of last-minute changes and resolve scheduling issues.
- Relay resident preferences to spa desk for them make a note.
- Have a thorough working knowledge of Turnberry Ocean Club’s services, hours of operation, facility, etc.
- Consistently clock in and out as instructed by supervisor. Management of personal timekeeping is required.
- Report malfunctioning equipment or facility issues to supervisor.
- Performs other job-related duties as directed including assisting in all areas of the spa as and when necessary (i.e., Relaxation area and Spa Desk Reception).
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to communicate in the English language. Multilingual is a plus.
- Handle multiple elements at the same time; maintain composure and a detail-oriented focus on pending tasks.
- Must possess a cooperative and solution-oriented attitude, conducting him/herself professionally and respectfully in a spa environment.
- Must be dependable and able to adjust to schedule changes, including cancellations and additions.
- Certifications in additional therapeutic modalities preferred.
- Genuine interest in making a positive impact in the lives of our residents. Look for ways to surprise and delight them. Create special memories through the delivery of warm-hearted service and interest towards each family.
- Ability to memorize the names and faces of the unit owners and renters.
- Willingness to learn and enforce rules and regulations set by the Association.
Education
- High School diploma.
- Graduate from an accredited school with a massage and skin care license.
- Must possess a minimum of 500 hours of massage training from an AMTA accredited/approved massage school. Current Massage Therapist and Facial license issued by the State of Florida.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be physically fit to lift, pull and push items up to 50 pounds.
- Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch.
- Must use hands to reach, grasp, handle, pull and push.
- Use and exposure to chemicals, fumes, and odors.
- Ability to tolerate varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.
