Job summary

RecruitFront is seeking a passionate Bilingual Teacher to serve as a leave replacement at Southampton Elementary School. The role delivers instruction in English and Spanish across core subjects, building bilingual literacy and culturally responsive practices.

The ideal candidate holds Elementary Education certification with Bilingual endorsement, plus prior bilingual classroom experience; Master’s preferred. Collaborate with teams and communicate with families throughout the replacement period.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Bilingual Education, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• State Teaching Certification in Elementary Education (K–6) with Bilingual Education (Spanish) endorsement/extension.
• Prior bilingual/dual-language classroom experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of second-language acquisition and early literacy development.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver bilingual, standards-aligned lessons in English and Spanish.
• Provide foundational literacy instruction in both languages, building reading, writing, and phonics skills.
• Differentiate instruction for English Language Learners (ELLs) and students with IEPs/504 plans.
• Embed culturally responsive practices that celebrate students' backgrounds and language identities.
• Maintain a structured, supportive, and emotionally safe classroom culture.
• Assess student progress with formative and summative tools and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Collaborate with grade-level team, dual-language specialists, and support staff; communicate with families.
• Follow established lesson plans while remaining flexible to student needs during the replacement period.
